Whem i began my gorila ,my influence was the grey gorilas from Stan Winston to Congo and the chipamzes of the Rick Baker to Greystoke.
I sculpted it in Zbrush. 3.0I used Zbrush to texture and render too.There i used the polypainting and subtools features.
